• Pittsburgh DJ at StratigosIn my time as a Pittsburgh DJ, I have seen many wedding traditions change. Details (like the bride not seeing the groom before the ceremony for instance) have evolved over time. Cupcakes sometimes replace a traditional wedding cake. Some couples opt for non-traditional ceremony settings like farms or barns.

This slideshow and story from the New York Times details how traditional wedding rituals are changing.

In the story one couple used a school bus instead of a limo. I have had several couples also use a school bus for transportation. Other couples no longer choose to do a traditional garter toss. Some couples cut a wedding PIE instead of a wedding cake.

My advice is to plan your wedding your way. The point to take away from the story is that your wedding day should not be limited by tradition, it should only be limited by your imagination!
