As one of the Pittsburgh wedding DJs from Entertainment Tonite, I have been honored to provide ceremony sound for many couples. One of the most stressful items for couples involving the ceremony seems to be what music to play for the processional and recessional.
Today I want to discuss some music options for your ceremony processional.
More and more Pittsburgh area couples have their ceremonies in non-traditional settings. This means they often need ceremony sound and ceremony music.
Today I’ll offer some processional song choices, next time I’ll look at recessional music. Let’s dive right in!
My first piece of advice is to have a theme for your wedding music, especially the prelude and processional. Probably the most popular theme is classical. However there certainly can be variations on this theme. For example, all the classical pieces could be played on guitar or piano rather than by the full orchestra.
Another very popular theme is “stringed pop music”. This idea has been made popular by Vitamin String Quartet. So if you decide to go this route many, many pop songs are open to you!
Maybe you would rather work backwards (pick YOUR processional song and then chose your theme). With that in mind I’ll offer you five great processional songs.
- Trumpet Voluntary
- Canon in D – O’Neill Brothers
- Thousand Years – Piano Guys
- I’m Yours – Vitamin String Quartet (your favorite Vitamin String Quartet song)
- Bridal Chorus
Of course the choices are limited only by YOU! Find a song you like, select a theme and you’re set to go.
