• Pittsburgh DJ at Lingrow for ceremony

As a Pittsburgh DJ, I have provided ceremony sound for many weddings. While I generally think that the processional song should follow the same theme as your prelude music, I don’t feel the same constraints need to be applied to your recessional song.

Previously I wrote about selecting your processional music. So this time I’m going to write about selecting your recessional music.

While you could choose to stay true to the theme of your prelude and processional music, many couples want something more upbeat and fun! With all of that in mind, here’s my top five recessional songs.

    1. Wedding March – Mendelssohn
    2. Beautiful Day – U2 (about :50 seconds in)
    3. Signed Sealed Delivered – Stevie Wonder
    4. Don’t Stop Believin’ – Vitamin String Quartet (your favorite Vitamin String Quartet song)
    5. I’m A Believer – Smash Mouth

As I wrote last week, (and it’s even more true here) the choice is YOURS! My suggestion is to pick something fun and upbeat.
