As an experienced Pittsburgh wedding DJ,  I can tell you there’s a lot more than 12! My main piece of advice would be there are no rules. It’s your wedding day, do what feels right to you!

I do want to touch on one rule that more and more couples choose to break. That rule is the one that says you shouldn’t see each other before the ceremony. Many Pittsburgh wedding photographers, including my brother Curt, of Curt’s Photography are encouraging couples to take care of a lot of their photos before the wedding ceremony.

This helps in a number of ways. It allows couples flexibility in choosing where to take their wedding photos. Doing this before the ceremony allows couples to use a variety of venues for their photos. And it helps the bride and groom get to the reception in a timely fashion (maybe even to enjoy cocktail hour with their family and friends!).

Another added benefit is that the couple gets to spend more time together on their wedding day.

Now I certainly wouldn’t say the new rule is to get your photos taken before the ceremony, but it is something for couples to at least consider.

Is seeing each other before the ceremony a rule that you would consider breaking?
