• Pittsburgh Wedding DJs – FAQ

    • What type of event is your specialty?

I consider myself a true wedding specialist. I have experience with many types of wedding celebrations. Weddings are the focus of my business and make up over 95% of my events.

    • What is your "DJ style"?

My style is to allow the focus of the reception to be on YOU and your guests! It's your day. I do not put on a show and try to become the center of attention. I will professionally make all of the announcements and keep your guests informed as to what is about to occur. I will creatively mix music to keep your dance floor energized. Your dance floor will be packed (read my reviews!), because I select the right songs and use my experience to mix those songs in the right sequence (timing is everything).

    • Will you help us coordinate our reception?

Absolutely! It's your night, you shouldn't have to worry about coordinating your own reception. That's my job! Four to six weeks prior to your wedding, we will have a meeting to discuss your event in detail. I will help you put together a timeline for the event. And on the night of your reception, I will make sure that your timeline flows smoothly. I promise to work with all of your vendors to help make sure that your reception is everything that you dreamed it would be. My goal is for you to have a stress free party.

    • Can we pick out the songs for our reception?

The answer is YES! My goal is to provide you with the music that you want to hear. I want you to be as involved in the music selection process as you would like to be!  Most of the couples that I work with provide me with a list of favorite songs and genres and tell me to create a mix that will keep their guests on the dance floor. I will take great care in listening to your input about the music you want to hear at your reception. And you can be sure that you will never hear songs or genres that you told me not to play.

    • Do you play requests?

It's entirely up to you. If you do want me to take requests, I will work to fit the requests into the mix as soon as appropriate, while keeping in mind the flow of your dance floor. If a guest makes a request that is inappropriate (or a song that you did not want played), I will work with that guest to try to find another song that they would like to hear. Of course you, as the newlyweds, will always have your requests played right away!

    • Can you provide music and sound for our ceremony?

I provide ceremony sound for many weddings each year. The sound system that I use will be customized to your specific event. In addition to my basic sound system, I always provide a lavalier microphone for your officiant. I will also provide a wireless hand-held microphone for any readers or singers performing at your ceremony. In addition to the equipment I provide, I will work with you to design a playlist for your prelude, processional, ceremony and recessional music.

    • Will you bring an assistant to my event?

No, I will be the only DJ at your event. The truth is, that with all of today's technology, it's easier than ever for a single experienced and talented wedding DJ to perform all tasks necessary for you to have a fun, stress-free wedding reception.

    • How much do you charge?

My base rate for weddings is between $250 - $300 per hour, with a five hour minimum. My pricing is determined strictly by the month and day of your event. This policy ensures fair pricing for all of my clients.

    • What is included in your price?

Five hours of performance time (additional time may be added at your hourly rate), at least one pre-wedding day consultation, all sound equipment including additional systems and microphones for cocktail and/or ceremony sound, dance floor lighting, setup time, breakdown time and travel (up to eighty miles). For weddings over 300 guests, a custom quote is required.

    • Do you offer any discounts?

I offer several discounts. If you use any of Entertainment Tonite's other wedding services (photography, videography or photo booth), you will qualify for a discount. You also will receive a discount if you have a Friday or Sunday wedding. Additionally, I offer discounts to all couples having their reception any time between November and April. Contact me today for more information!

    • Can I schedule a phone consultation or an in-person appointment?

I offer both phone consultations and in-person appointments. I hope to make the process of learning more about my DJ service as easy as possible for you. Just let me know, via email or phone, what method of contact works best and we can set up a free, no-obligation, consultation that best fits into your schedule.

    • How do I book you for my event?

Once you have decided to retain my DJ service for your event, I will email you a customized contract guaranteeing my services on your wedding day. You’ll have a 10-day window to sign your agreement and submit a $300 retainer. During that 10-day window I will hold your date and I'm available to answer any additional questions you may have. Once I receive your payment and your signed contract, we are all set! It's that simple!

    • When is my final balance due and what forms of payment do you accept?

Your balance is due four weeks prior to your event. Most of my clients find it easy to pay their balance during our final planning meeting that takes place four to six weeks before your event. I accept cash, check, VISA or Master Card.
